Woolmer Green Parish Council
Minutes of Extra Meeting
held at 7.30 p.m. on 24th May, 2005
- Present:
Cllr. H. Bryant (Chair), Cllr. G. Daniels, Cllr. C. Evans (for Mins. 5
& 6), Cllr. J. Thom, Cllr. J. Watson. In Attendance: A. Edmonds
(Clerk)
- The
meeting had been called primarily to consider a planning application for a
conservatory style extension at the rear of the Red Lion Public House. The
Council objected to the proposal on the grounds that it was not in keeping
with the character of the building, that it was an over-development of the
site and that it would increase the noise levels emanating from the
premises at night to the annoyance of nearby residents.
- Cllr.
Thom advised the meeting that an Appeal in support of the Roman Baths
project had been turned down.
- The
Clerk advised the meeting of a conversation with a member of the Licensing
Dept at WHC, confirmed by e-mail, who had stated that the Parish Council
could not raise an objection to the proposed extension of licensing hours
at the Red Lion Public House as a body, but could only represent the views
of named residents, whose validity would be ÒtestedÓ by the District
Council according to whether they were considered to live Òwithin the
vicinityÓ of the public house. It was agreed to write to WHC objecting to
this advice, but also giving examples of residents who had complained.
- Cllr.
Watson reported that some of the stallholders at the recent FarmersÕ
Market had felt that the £20 fee per stall should be reduced. The matter
was discussed, but no decision taken, other than that at the June Market,
which was due to be held outside the Hall, the fee should be reduced to
£12.50, of which £2.50 would go to the Market Manager.
- Cllr.
Watson asked the meeting for agreement to the amount of the annual donation
to the CPRE. It was agreed to donate the minimum for a Parish Council of
£25.00.
